Creative Assembly’s upcoming xeno-scare fest Alien: Isolation is one of the year’s most anticipated titles, and fans of the film series are about to get a whole lot of hype shoved right in their faces. Today, it was announced that the pre-order bonuses for the game will be two missions based within the timeline of 1979’s Alien, and will feature the majority of the original cast.
Alien: Isolation Nostromo Edition will reunite almost the entire cast of the original film; Sigourney Weaver (Ripley), Tom Skerritt (Dallas), Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (Brett), and Yaphet Kotto (Parker) will reprise their roles, however veteran actor Ian Holm (Ash) will be replaced by a voice soundalike.
The first mission, titled Crew Expendable, is set early in the second act of the film. The player will take the role of either Ripley, Dallas, or Parker and will see the chosen cast member attempting to coax the eponymous xenomorph out from an air lock. The second mission, Last Survivor, is set during the death throes of the film’s final act and finds Ripley in a race to reach the air lock before the Nostromo self-destructs.
All UK pre-orders of Alien: Isolation will be automatically upgraded to the Nostromo Edition, which includes the Crew Expendable mission. Last Survivor, however, will be a retailer-exclusive pre-order bonus. These retailers are yet to be announced.
Alien: Isolation launches globally on October 7th, 2014 on all major platforms.
