Mark Pincus, the now former Chief Product Officer for Zynga, is stepping aside to take a non-executive role within the company.
Pincus’ sideways move comes alongside Zynga’s first-quarter financial report for 2014. The report also announced a new president for the company with Alex Garden. Garden is formerly of Microsoft where he was general manager of Xbox Live and Xbox Music, Video and Reading. Zynga also announced that it had hired Henry LaBounta for the role chief visual officer. LaBounta has a history with Electronic Arts and Microsoft and worked with DreamWorks on films like Minority Report and A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
According to a note form Pincus on Zynga’s blog about the announcement, he will still retain an office within the company headquarters and will be active in supporting the company, but will no longer have an operating role.
