Ubisoft’s upcoming RPG, Child of Light, taps the power of the same engine used for the beautiful Rayman games to deliver a nostalgic experience inspired by genre classics like Final Fantasy. To drive home the old-school sensibilities, Ubisoft is delivering a soundtrack filled with delicate, distinct melodies and rousing orchestral themes.
Canadian singer and pianst Cœur de Pirate is the brain behind Child of Light’s soundtrack. In addition topartnering with Cirque Du Soleil to establish the game’s visual style, Cœur de Pirate was integral in establishing the RPG’s musical identity. The game will be available on April 30 for Xbox One, 360, PlayStation 4, PS3, PC, and Wii U, but you can download the soundtrack via Bandcamp a day earlier on April 29 to get an early taste. It’s also available for pre-order now.
