The game is already available in Canada, where Supercell soft-launched it in November 2013. Boom Beach is a strategy title in which the player attacks various island bases, including those held by other players. It is Supercell’s third game, following Hay Dayand the phenomenally successful Clash of Clans, both of which the studio released in 2012.
Last October, Japanese telecommunications firm SoftBank acquired a majority stake in Supercell, which is based in Helsinki, for $1.5 billion. Last month, Supercell reported it had pulled in $892 million in revenue during its 2013 fiscal year, a 783 percent increase from the $101 million of revenue the company tallied for 2012.
